Pastor Jonathan Schultz

I'm grateful to be able to study the life-giving gospel of our Lord Jesus!  What a blessing to know that since He, God's Son, lived, died, and rose for us we have forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

In view of the promises of heaven through faith in Jesus, I'm grateful to serve in the public pastoral ministry, preaching, teaching, and sharing the gospel of our Savior in sermons, Bible studies, and visitation with God's people.  It's also a joy to confess the blessed truths God has revealed to us in His Word, the Bible, with those inquiring about the promises of life God has given through Jesus.  So I'm happy to share Christ at every opportunity.

I graduated from the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in 1979 with a Masters of Divinity Degree. The Lord's first call led me to serve as instructor at Martin Luther Preparatory School from 1979-81. He then led me to serve as pastor of Peace Lutheran, Boulder, Colorado (1981-88), Gethsemane Lutheran, Omaha, Nebraska (1988-91), missions developer and pastor at Mountain View Lutheran Church (Calgary Alberta, Canada) and Morning Star Lutheran Church (Carstairs, Alberta, Canada) from 1991-2007.

My wife and our children are grateful to be here in Oconomowoc to serve the Lord now at St. Matthew's. It's a joy to serve the Lord with the faithful staff and members of St. Matthew's. May God give us His grace that we with gratitude receive His holy Word and remain in the confession of it to the end.

Perhaps Romans 15:13 summarizes the confidence and conviction the Lord has given me in the ministry, and it is my prayer for you: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
