MEETING NIGHTS Regular meetings occur on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Tuesdays of each month during the school year from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. LUTHERAN PIONEERS AT ST. MATTHEWS HAS THE FOLLOWING GROUPS
HISTORY In September 1951 St. Johns Lutheran Church in Burlington, Wisconsin formed the first Train of the Lutheran Pioneers. In September 1971 St. Matthews became Train 284. From 1971 until 1987, boys in fourth grade and older took part in the St. Matthews Pioneer program. In 1988 St. Matthews added the Buckaroo program which involves boys in first through third grade. In January 1994 St. Matthews added the Trooper program for advanced Pioneers. In 2001 the program was modified to create smaller groups which include Buckaroos (Grades 1 & 2), Recruits (Grades 3 & 4), Campers (Grades 5 to 7) and Troopers (Grades 8 & up). |
