Deb Schramm, Fifth Grade

My name is Deborah Schramm and I am the fifth grade teacher here at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School. My greatest blessings are my family and my teaching ministry.

My husband, Stuart, is a carpenter, working for C G Schmidt out of Milwaukee. He provided an unforgettable experience for us when he ran the Boston Marathon in April of 2006. It was a thrill to see the sights of Boston and a Red Sox game, and to watch him finish the race with more than 20,000 runners from around the world.

We have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. Stephanie is married to Pastor David Olson who serves at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greeley, Colorado. We always look forward to the time that we can spend with them and their children Haley and Joey. Stacy and Noah Eckl live in Watertown, WI. Noah is an athletic trainer at Watertown Hospital and spends many hours at Luther Prep School, keeping the athletes fit to play. When Stacy is not following after one year old Sophia, she works at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Rachel is a senior at Marquette University, studying speech and language pathology. If you have visited Wisconsin Dells, you may have purchased tickets from her. She has spent the last 3 summers there, working for Tommy Bartlett.

Although I have served at only one congregation, I have taught at every level from preschool to upper grades during my 28 years of teaching. I am a church organist and direct our Julian Handbell Choir. I have welcomed student teachers from Martin Luther College into my classroom for many years.

I cannot imagine what my life would be like without my teaching. I thank God daily for giving me the opportunity to share His Word with so many young people. It is my prayer that they will always remember God’s great love and the gift of salvation that He has given to all of us!
