Deb Schramm, Fifth Grade

Personal Information

My name is Deborah Schramm and I am the fifth grade teacher here at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School. My greatest blessings are my family and my teaching ministry.

My husband, Stuart, is a carpenter, working for C G Schmidt out of Milwaukee. He is a marathon runner, and I am his #1 fan, accompanying him to Boston, Colorado, and many half marathons, marathons, and ultra-marathons in Wisconsin.

We have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. Stephanie is married to Pastor David Olson who serves at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Madison, Tennessee. We always look forward to the time that we can spend with them and their children Haley, Joey and twins, Will and Ali. Stacy and Noah Eckl live much closer to us, in Ixonia. Noah is an athletic trainer at Watertown Hospital and spends many hours at Luther Prep School, keeping the athletes fit to play. While Sophia, Madelyn and Charlie keep her busy at home, she also works as an RN at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Rachel is a speech and language pathologist, working in Milwaukee Public Schools. She grew to love living on the east side of Milwaukee while she attended Marquette University. She loves to travel, having spent a month exploring Europe and scuba diving in the Caribbean.

Professional Information

Although I have served at only one congregation, I have taught at every level from preschool to eighth grade during my 30+ years of teaching. I hold a Wisconsin State teaching license and strive to grow professionally through continuing education and the reading of professional publications.

I have welcomed student teachers from Martin Luther College into my classroom for many years. I am a church organist and direct our Julian Handbell Choir.

I cannot imagine what my life would be like without my teaching. I thank God daily for giving me the opportunity to share His Word with so many young people. It is my prayer that they will always remember God’s great love and the gift of salvation that He has given to all of us!
